Term 3 Week 10

Well, Term 3 has flown by and everyone is still on holiday (which was seriously deserved by everyone!)

Tall Tales, our bi-annual school production was again a hit with the community with every performance selling out. A big congratulations to everyone involved who made it so successful. Our Year 7/8 student team made us incredibly proud again with all their extra bits that brings it all together including acting, narrating, lighting and backstage assistance.

  Kids Vote 2014

You may recall from our last post that our students had an opportunity before the General Election to have their say on who they thought should be running our country. Well the votes are in and they are significantly different to what the rest of the country thought!

With 46% of the party vote the Green Party won our election. National received 20%, Labour 16% and the Civilian Party with 15%.

Holly Walker and Trevor Mallard tied in the Electorate vote with 28 votes each while Chris Bishop received 11 votes.

Debating Finals

So much for chilling out and relaxing on the last day of the term! Our debating finalists went head to head in the morning to compete for the titles of best debating team and best individual debaters.

The judges and audience were truly blown away with the quality of the writing and presenting from every debater. We were also incredibly impressed with how well the teams worked together during  the week preparing for big day.

A big congratulations to Bridget's team for taking out the the Year 7 debate and Emma Beavers for being the best Year 7 debater. Well done to Jasmine's team who took out the Year 8 debate with Beth Brodie winner the best Year 8 debater. Our overall debating winner who was awarded with our Speech Competition Cup was Mia Treadwell-Burke. Congratulations Mia!
